He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College Of Engineering, Guindy and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
The Journey To Flipkart
Jeyandran Venugopal began his career with an internship at Amazon before moving on to work at NCSA (National Centre for Supercomputing Applications) as a consultant. He returned to Amazon in 2001 and stayed there for eight years. He has played a key role in growing the e-commerce industry in India, helping set up the Amazon India office, and even hired and mentored Flipkart founders Sachin and Binny Bansal there. He also had a stint in Seattle as Senior Technical Advisor to Jeff Bezos.
He left Amazon in 2008 and worked in technology and strategy positions at Yahoo, Snapdeal and Myntra, before joining Flipkart in 2019.
Role As CPTO, Flipkart
At Flipkart, Jeyandran leads a team that handles several domains: product management, engineering, design and user research, data science, IT, security, infrastructure and product operations.
His key role is to create engaging user experiences, high scale systems, big data platforms and cutting-edge data science applications.
